The past two years have signaled a period of change for the mobile tech industry. We saw the first phones with foldable screens hit the market, 5G is finally here, and wearable devices have made incredible progress in gathering more advanced health data.
The COVID-19 pandemic has also underscored our reliance on technology for everything from work to socializing and staying in shape. Although many of these innovations were in place before the pandemic, these shifts feel even more relevant in the wake of COVID-19. Laptops, for example, are changing to fit a world in which many people may not be working from a traditional office ever again.
At the same time, wearable devices have grown from being smartphone accessories to sophisticated health devices capable of measuring the quality of our sleep, our cardiac health, and so much more. At the center of many of these changes is 5G, the next generation wireless network that not only promises to bring faster smartphone data speeds, but will also be critical in enabling a new wave of mobile devices.
