In Lenovo's pantheon of ThinkPads, the X1 line sits at the top of the pecking order. Naturally, as the most high-end series, its models are usually the most expensive there are. Case in point: When the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 1, the lightest ThinkPad yet with a weight below 1 kg or just 1.99 lbs, came out in late 2020, the starting price sat at $1,721. A far cry from the promised base price of $1,599 and not a good deal at all.
It is not unusual though for Lenovo to push out their ThinkPad laptops in the US store with jacked-up prices. In pretty much all cases, there are significant discounts a few weeks after availability. As it turned out, the X1 Nano was no exception to the rule.
Recently, the price went as low as $1,199. Now, it can be had for even less, as it dips below the $1,000 mark for the first time. At the moment, the base model of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 1 costs $949 with the eCoupon "CLEARANCE5". This configuration includes the Intel Core i5-1130G7, 8 GB soldered RAM and a 256 GB SSD - the RAM in particular could be a deal breaker for many. The SSD though is upgradable, and even the base model includes the excellent 16:10 2K IPS display.
