This CES, Lenovo dropped an insane number of products, from ThinkBooks to monitors to Mixed Reality Glasses. But it's worth putting a spotlight on what may be its best ThinkPad of the show: the 6th generation Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga.
This new iteration of the beloved 2-in-1 will come packed with new and exciting features, bridging the gap between this model and the X1 Carbon. The new X1 Yoga will feature a 16:10 aspect ratio for more space to get things done, blue light filtering for your eyes, a fingerprint reader on the power button, no-touch sign in with Windows Hello IR recognition, and a suite of Dolby features—Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and the brand new Dolby Voice.
Dolby Vision and the computing version of Dolby Atmos are a welcome but common edition to laptops these days, but Dolby Voice is new and exclusive to just the Lenovo X1 Yoga and X1 Carbon. In short, Dolby Voice uses AI voice recognition to attempt to enhance web calls with more voice separation, clearer audio, and better word recognition on voice assistants. We don’t know how effective Dolby Voice will prove, but Vision’s and Atmos’s success across industries give us high expectations.
The X1 Yoga will also pack quite a few neat hardware tricks up its sleeve. Its 57 Watt-hour battery claims to deliver up to 15 hours of battery life, potentially thanks to its efficient, dual-fan cooling system and its 11th gen Intel Core vPro processor. To stay connected to the world, the laptop will support WiFi 6, 5G, and Bluetooth. It will have two Thunderbolt 4 ports, several USB-A ports, and even an HDMI port for great wired connectivity, as well. Those that plan to push their X1 Yoga to the limit will also be pleased to know that the X1 Yoga supports up to 32GB of RAM.
The X1 Yoga will be available in February, and it will start at $1,569. It’s more expensive than the comparable Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 and the HP Spectre x360 14, but it comes with extra business features not included in the other two laptops (such as human presence detection).
