Lenovo's Yoga brand has been shifted from being used only for convertible laptops to Lenovo's general premium laptop consumer brand, similar to how Dell uses the XPS brand for their high-end consumer laptops.
It is probably no coincidence that Dell shifted the XPS line to 16:10 screens and that Lenovo is now doing the same with the Yoga line. Case in point: The new Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro.
Unlike older Yoga machines, this Lenovo laptop has a 14 inch screen in the 16:10 aspect ratio. The taller aspect ratio results in smaller screen bezels below and above the display. There are going to be two screen options: A 300 cd/m² panel with a resolution of 2,240 x 1,400 (which Lenovo calls 2.2k) and a 400 cd/m² panel with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 (2.8k).
This is not the only interesting aspect about the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro: It is powered by AMD Ryzen processors. To be more specific: The more powerful H class (45 W), with the AMD Ryzen 9 4900H as the fastest available choice. The processor is backed up by up to 16 GB LPDDR4X memory and a 61 Wh battery.
These components are in a 1.45 kg heavy aluminum chassis, which is available in silver or grey and with a glass-cover in front of the screen or without. It features a reverse notch above the screen, 2 W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos as well as two USB C 3.2 Gen 2 and a single USB A port.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro will be available in the EMEA region in August of 2020, for a starting price of €799. This may not be true for all countries however, as the German press release says that it will not be available until 2021.
